One-to-one therapy provides a tailored approach to personal growth and development, offering valuable support in areas such as increased confidence, improved decision-making skills and effective stress management. This personalised interaction also enhances problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities, equipping clients with practical tools to navigate their challenges more effectively.
The effectiveness of one-to-one therapy is rooted in the ability to truly understand each individual through friendly, positive and straightforward conversations. My enthusiasm for neuroscience allows me to explain the ‘why’ behind behaviours and emotions, which fosters motivation and deeper engagement. By identifying the root causes of issues and leveraging my knowledge of neuroscience and personal experience, I create customised strategies that make the therapeutic process more insightful and actionable for each client.
Walking and Talking therapy was initially developed out of necessity during lockdown, but it quickly became clear that this approach had significant benefits. Clients often felt more at ease and relaxed while engaging in sessions amidst nature, accompanied by my friendly doodle, Dougal. The natural environment, combined with the gentle physical activity of walking, proved to be a powerful tool for enhancing well-being.
Spending time in nature has been shown to improve mood, reduce stress and anger, and provide a calming break from daily pressures. This approach not only supports mental health by fostering relaxation and boosting self-esteem but also promotes physical health through active engagement. The connection with the outdoors and the opportunity for open, conversational exchanges in a soothing setting make Walking and Talking a refreshing and effective addition to traditional therapy methods.
